Alabama Hunting & Fishing Seasons Reports

Alabama is one of the best places to go fishing in the country to go fishing. Like every year, lf all goes well, this year will be as good if not better for fishing. Bass fishing in Alabama is more fun compared to other destinations in the country

Fishes to Look For

Alabama is known for bass fishes and a lots of them are found in the Guntersville Lake in the region. This river is home to many species of bass including the wide mouth, spotted and white bass to name a few. During February, most fishes gather in or nearby the fish mud creek region where types of fishes, particularly schools of basses gather in swarms. Upon the turn of the winter, the fishes move down to the lake region where most fishes are found in abundance. April is great time to fish for the spawn bass that are beginning to rush to spawning pockets.

Late Winter Lures

If you are in for hunting during winters, Alabama fishing is at its best during this part of the season. For instance, Guntersville lipless crankbaits, swimbaits, rigged lizards, buzzbaits and jerkbaits are the best catches of the season. Bass fishing in Alabama and nearby waters is also great fun due to the fact that you end up catching the fish in great numbers. In fact, bass fishing in Alabamais a year round fun that you can enjoy whenever you want to

Bass don’t Like Warm Waters

When the mercury hits high, the bass don’t like to hunt or swim around, especially near the surface. This is so because they don’t like to be around in warm waters. When you see that happening, know that bass will come around for food during cold times i.e. early in the morning, the evening or at night. Prepare your gear and hunt them during these times during summers.

Salt Water Fishing Alabama

Fishing in Alabama can be quite fun but you need to have a license to fish in the saltwater first. This region is known to provide excellent salt water fishing opportunity for fishing enthusiasts. Fishes like basses and salt water salmon are in abundance these days so you are in for goo hunting. Moreover, basses swarm into the region so bass catchers are also in for a good fishing spree.

Alabama Bass Fishing
Bass fishing in Alabama is a lot of fun and you are likely to find schools of basses near the water surface. Basses like to swim in cold waters so it would be better to have your fishing net ready in evening or night. During the day time, you may not find as many basses as you’d want to so don’t waste your time looking for them when the sun shines bright.

During winters when the temperature is in low 70 degree, basses can be found near channels and surface all day long. Usually, April and May are the best months for fishing basses. However, since it rains heavily during these months, the waters get dirty and cluttered. To make the most out of your fishing experience, use a fishing rod that is thicker than usual. This is so as bass can be quite heavy and lifting it can take a toll on your rod. Also, make sure you carry a fishing net with you. It should have medium size holes but not too large.

Catching bass can be a lot of fun if you know where and how to look for them. From creeks to open waters, you can find them anywhere during the winters. However, catching bass in Alabama is not a good idea as they go down to the river bed for the most of part of the day.
